The Ladies' Church fund Society was organized in 1900 to foreward the building of parsonage. Thirty-three members were enrolled the first meeting and Mrs. Martha Young was elected president. Later the Women's Guild took its place in the oversight of the parsonage and in aiding all the work of the Church, and is an efficient, tireless, ever-dependable band of Christian women. The Woman's Foreign Missionary Society, organized in 1917 to send the "Good News" of Christ to the women and children in non-Christian lands, has studied the fields, and contributed to their cause through the years since a total of $2,849.00. The Annie M. Young Bible class, charter dated October 24, 1919, has not only given itself to the study of the Word on the Sabbath day, but has also been active in every way in forwarding the interests of the Church, financial and spiritual. The Church. And what shall we write more! Space would fail to tell all! Much that might have been written has been omitted and doubtless much has been overlooked. The above is a record of thins-of externals. In and under and beyond all this is the life, the heart, the soul, of the living Church. All the buildings, and organizations, and activities, and money-raisings, have been for the one purpose of presenting Christ, crucified and risen again, the life of God in the heart of man, with power to set him free from guilt, the stain, the bondage, of sin and to present him in Christ like character faultless before the throne of God his Father. For eighty years Baden Methodist Episcopal Church has been lifting up Christ in this community. So the Sunday School has been tireless in its teaching of the children and of all ages; so the Gospel Team. Think of the many who have been influenced by the Sunday School; think of the faithful teachers, who perhaps have mourned their seeming ineffectiveness, but whose influence has followed all through life; think of the many whose lives have been touched and blessed by this Church, who have gone forth into other communities and Churches to be a blessing there; think of the sacrifices and unselfish labors of the members of this Church through the years. Who can write the record? The greatest revival was during the pastorate of Rev. G. L. C. Westlake, with his young nephew, Rev. G. L. C. Richardson, as the evangelist. Meetings were held afternoon and evening. Twenty-five were at the altar in one evening and over a hundred were converted. The largest increase in membership was during the three-year pastorate of Rev. G. J. Whitlatch-a net increase of 95. In general the growth in numbers has been slow. It is easy to say such and such services have been held, so many conversions, and so many members added, but no one can estimate all the work of grace within the hearts-for much of the growth of
