The aim of this association was and still is to make the members of the church better acquainted with each other, and to pay or reduce the debt of the church, and also to alleviate distress and suffering in the neighborhood when necessary.

An interesting article of the Constitution is as follows:

"GATHERERS"

The officers of the Association shall constitute a committee which shall appoint four gatherers; four ladies who shall serve for six months or until their successors are appointed. It shall be the duty of the Gatherers to keep a list of the members of the church, and of the contributions to the funds of the association; call on each one at least once a month; urge attendance upon the meetings of the association; solicit and collect contributions in its behalf, and especially and particularly do all in their power to keep up an interest in the work of the association.

The first "Gatherers" appointed were:

Miss Sallie Lees

This organization is still a very active part of the church having 24 members, who give untiringly of their time and labor to promote the interests of the church. The present officers are:

Harriet A. Moore Mission Band

The Harriet A. Moore Mission Band of Christ Lutheran Church was organized July 17, 1891. The name being given in honor of Harriet A. Moore, who before her death, had been so faithful and well beloved.

The purpose of the band being to raise money to aid missions both at home and foreign.

The charter members consisted of 13 willing workers presided over by Irma Bryan ( Mrs. Charles Rye, Ambridge, Pa.)

Much work worthy of note has been accomplished by this band through its 47 years of existence. Sewing for hospitals and the Zelienople Home, packing boxes for missions, sending toys at Christmas, and a large amount of money being turned over to the Church treasurer for the upkeep of our own church.

At the present time the membership consists of 31 presided over by Mrs. F. E. Puhlman.

The Men's Brotherhood

The Men's Brotherhood of Christ Lutheran Church was organized January, 1937, with 20 charter members presided over by Mr. Carl Serack.

The purpose of the organization to further both religious and social activities of the church and to share in the upkeep of the church.
