In spite of the youth of the organization the membership has doubled and is taking a large part in the work of the church.

It is now presided over by Mr. Bernard Jung.

Young Women's Missionary Society

Through the efforts and interest shown by members of the Harriet A. Moore Mission Band in trying to bring together the young girls of the church for a definite purpose, i. e. to learn more of the mission work being done, both at home and abroad, and also to aid the church wherever possible, a meeting was held in the Sunday School room of Christ Lutheran Church on June 21, 1933, where the Young Women's Missionary Society was organized.

The membership has grown from nine to 21 with Mrs. C. S. Brewer and Mrs. C. J. Headland serving as sponsors.

ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH

Humble and oftimes obscure beginnings are the forerunners of great development. Not unfrequently, too, the greatness of the finished task is accepted as ordinary by those who make such progress possible, by people whose lives are spent in unselfish labor and sacrifice.

With keen interest, we trace the humble beginning of S. John the Baptist Parish back to missionary days when visiting priests of other dioceses administered to the scattered population of Catholics, a group of which lived in economy Township. During the years 1866 to 1868,
