Baden's First 100 YearsPage Four
As readers, you will be interested in our early settlement and settlers, the problems and concerns of our early "City Fathers" and those of later years, the development of our churches and schools, and lastly the Baden of today. A number of persons including, Miss Elizi Hill, Mrs. Emma Ehraman McKibben, Mr. Charles Bryan, Mrs. H. C. Machesney, Mr. H. C. Machesney, Mrs. Clarence Headland, Mrs. F. A. Barkley, and Mrs. Ross Rea have rendered invaluable assistance in the compiling of this history and we heartily acknowledge their aid with grateful appreciation. To others who have contributed in any measure, of their information and time we are also grateful. The Centennial Monogram printed on the cover of this book was taken off the original Borough Seal. This seal was adopted by the first Town Council in the year 1868, at which time the Borough of Baden was incorporated.
