troops having been without a leader, now reorganized, being sponsored by the Lutheran Church and with Rev. Frederick Howorth of that church, as Scoutmaster. In 1926 Rev. C. A. Brewer succeeded Rev. Howorth as pastor of the church and the troop continued under his leadership.

For a time the activity of the troop ceased. In 1928-29 a troop was sponsored by the Men's Brotherhood of the Methodist Episcopal Church, John Brown being made Scoutmaster.

In October, 1930, a meeting of citizens was held for the purpose of stimulating interest in Boy Scout work in Baden. It was then decided to form a Baden Council, Boy Scouts of America, which would work for the advancement of Scouting in Baden and cooperate with the reorganized Beaver County Council. H. C. Machesney was elected President, Louis Hannigan, Vice President, and Lynn Leacock, Secretary of the Council.

John Brown having removed from Baden, felt he could no longer act as Scoutmaster, but consented to continue until a qualified successor could be secured.

Early in 1931 Arthur Womer, an experienced Scouter, took charge of this troop.

Permission was given by the Board of Directors for the troop to meet in and use one of the basement rooms of the new school building.

In December, 1931, a second troop was organized, Mr. James McKalip being made Scoutmaster.

These troops have continued as active troops until the present time, though the troop numbers have been changed.

In 1930 the Beaver County Council reorganized, being assisted both financially and by Council, by the Allegheny Council under the able direction of Mr. Andy T. Benson, Chief Scout Executive, and is now called Allegheny County Council West, having jurisdiction over an area comprising Coraopolis, Sewickley, Leetsdale and all of Beaver County.

Mr. Tom Venable, a very able Scout Executive and organizer, was detached from the staff of Allegheny Council and spend the years 1931 to 1934 in building up Scouting in Beaver County. In 1934 he was succeeded by Mr. Ray Weigand, the dynamic and capable present day Beaver County Chief Scout Executive.

Troops in the Beaver County area now renumbered from 400 up. Baden first troop was numbered 400 and the second troop 504.

The Baden Council has continued in charge of these troops, H. C. Machesney serving as President from 1930 to 1934, Lynn Leacock as Secretary from 1930 to 1935; J. L. Skeehan as President, 1934-1935, F. A. Barley, president 1935-1936; Earl Daubenspeck, President 1937, and Earl Liebermann the President for current year 1938.

Mr. C. M. Cook served as Secretary and Treasurer from 1935 to and including the present year.

For Troop 400 Arthur Womer was Scoutmaster for 1931-1932 to September, 1933. Clarence Headland, Chairman of Troop Committee,
