Committee which is composed of from three to five adults who are interested in a particular group. It is especially important for a lone troop, such as we have in Baden, to have the backing and assistance that this committee can give. Those have have served the Girl Scouts of Baden in this capacity are: Mesdames James McKalip, Chairman, Hay Young, George Axtell, Charles Hare, Victor Pate and Earl Leibermann. They have given the troop desirable community backing and have been useful in fostering neighborhood interest in the girls and their activities.

CHILDREN'S AID SOCIETY

Through the interest and effort of Mrs. H. C. Machesney, a Board Member of the Beaver County Children's Aid Society, the Baden Auxiliary was organized in August, 1932. From nine members it rapidly grew to its present quota of 24 members.

The two yearly aims of the organization are raising $100.00, which enables us to become a Silver Star Parent, and the making of clothes for a part of the children under the care of the County organization. Since 1934 the Baden Auxiliary has been a Silver Star Parent, the money having been raised by four equally divided groups within the Society, each of which are responsible for holding one benefit and contributing $25.00 of the pledge. In addition, the Auxiliary makes approximately 200 garments each year, which are worn by a group of children, numbering nearly 100 at the present time, who are cared for in the foster homes throughout the County.

The following have served as presidents of the organization:
Mrs. A. L. Stopps Mrs. F. A. Barkley Mrs. James Marr Mrs. W. R. Rae Mrs. Ralph E. Smith

The present officers of the Baden Auxiliary are:

THE WOMAN'S CLUB OF BADEN

On September 13, 1933, at a meeting of the Children's Aid Auxiliary of Baden, Mrs. H. C. Machesney suggested that the time had come when Baden should have a Woman's Club organization. She invited the women interested to meet at her home on Wednesday, September 27, 1933, to discuss the advisability of, and the reasons for and against such an organization.

Mrs. D. L. McNees of Ambridge, a former president of the Beaver County Federation, discussed the organization and aims of a Woman's Club, answering many questions for the ten women present. There being no arguments against the proposed organization, Mrs. H. C. Machesney was elected temporary chairman for the group, and Mrs. R. J. W. Gullyes, temporary secretary. Mrs. F. A. Barkley, Mrs. I. B.
