At the death of Mr. Martin and his wife in 1923 and 1924, the business was turned over to his two daughters, M. Mina Martin and Susan E. Martin Ritchey, who are the owners, at present, selling quality meats and groceries and known as Martin Company. Overholt Bros. Market on State Street is conducted and owned by T. H. Overholt and S. R. Overholt. This store was purchased from Spangler and Fruth in September, 1921. In 1929, this firm joined the Clover Farm Voluntary Chain Plan. In 1938, Overholt Bros. Installed one of the first cases in Beaver County for the handling of "Frosted Foods." Guthrie's Lunch Room at 644 State Street, opened in 1934 under the management of H. Guthrie. Fisher's Restaurant is located at 627 State Street since 1922. The restaurant on State Street is owned and operated by J. DeNoble. The Baden Inn at 901 State Street has been owned and operated by Mr. August Kopriva since 1924. Located in the Brown Building since 1926, is the A. & P. Store. It is under the management of Mr. J. R. McCandless. Oravetz Grocery is located in the Dennerlein Building at 229 State Street. O. and B. Market, formerly the Baden Cash Market, was established in the Brown Building, State Street in 1932. Mr. Earl Hicks has been a dealer in Champion Coal since 1916. Mr. Ernest McElroy has been in the roofing and sheet metal business for 30 years. C. W. Wagner has owned and operated the Gulf Service Station since 1933. Bush and Gilbert are Sunoco Dealers on State Street since 1933. In 1931 The Baden Materials opened business. Mr. Barnett Marcus and P. A. Paulson operate this business between the Ohio River bank and the Pennsylvania Railroad. Wise and Neuber opened the Baden City Service on State Street in 1938. Baden Electric Sales and Service was opened for business at 623 State Street in 1936. The Kober Brothers own and operate this business. Marvin J. Wetzel has operated a Dump Truck and Freight Service since 1922. He is located at the corner of Berry and Bryan Avenues. The Henry Birnesser Motor Sales, located at 411 State Street, is owned and operated by Mr. Birnesser since 1936. Shane Brothers have been in the Coal and General Hauling business continuously since 1933. The Shields Cummings Barber Shop is in the Fisher Building on State Street.
